《It was just a virtual kiss》employs a love story that takes place in “World of Warcraft” as its theme, narrating how players in online games construct their virtual bodies in the digital world, or how bodies are extended in a digital form that use game as the medium to contact, embrace, kiss each other in avatars of different fantastic species. Over the screen and characters, physical tactility and spiritual bonds are created visually, while constructing relationships and ties beyond physical restraints and defects of the original bodies to induce a bodily sense in digital media.
The Machinima in the game realm and AR animations are grafted into the direct contact between the digitalized bodily sensation and the physical body. Through multiple bodily sensations, it ponders over how bodies are extended via other forms and mediums beyond the original counterparts to give rise to a starving, novel spirits, emotional bonds, and love.
