Rhizome is a non-profit arts organization based in New York City. Founded by artist Mike Tribe in 1996, it was used as a mail list for the Internet art community. Rhizome promotes the development of digital art and culture through a committee, focusing on exhibition, performance, digital collections, and program software development. Since 2003, Rhizome has been an affiliate in residence at the New Museum of Contemporary Art. It is dedicated to exploring the future of contemporary art and technology and supports digital art creation and collection.
“CrossFab” is based on the 7000×7000, a collaborative project between Rhizome and Digital Art Center, Taipei. There will be seven creative proposals selected. To reflect the spirits of cross arts collaboration by pairing artists with technologists, another potential proposal in line with the theme of this year – “Fragments of Truth” – will be selected for the display.
