The Yes Man
“The Yes Men” are a culture jamming activist duo (and hundreds of collaborators) founded by actors Jacques Servin and Igor Vamos known for their use of tactical media to bring attention to pressing societal issues such as climate justice and unfair labor conditions. Their tactics include creating and maintaining fake websites of various entities as well as impersonating entities. In their own words, they practice a kind of “identity correction”.
They also founded The Yes Lab as a way to support organizations, students and activists in fostering awareness around social and environmental issues and developing media tactics. Today, The Yes Men continue to concentrate on these issues in the United States context, using wry videos, documentaries and performative speech acts to trigger public discussions.
