“AKSARA MAYA” is a suspenseful drama that deals with time distortion in a setting of a dark period. Appropriating the role-playing game format, the work gathers and reconstructs languages in a world where games and reality get confused, and eventually builds an imagined space. The characters referred to as users here function as shadow writers who lead the narrative. They are noisy yet tenacious and sincere in their roles, allowing us to look at the present more closely and personally through their psychological statements.

Min-Jung SONG
Min Jung SONG observes the surface of culture that remains in the present – the temporal concept of time – and creates a fictional story using the contradictions that arise in between. She borrows several storytelling techniques such as advertisements, dramas, v-logs, and games to weave the new world and participates in contemporary discussion. Therefore, the world she summons much resembles the present.
She has participated in several group exhibition such as BusanBiennale 2020: an exhibition in ten chapters and five poems (Museum of Contemporary Art Busan, 2020), Night Turns to day (Art Sonje Center, 2019), Young Korean Artists 2019 (MMCAKorea, 2019), PRO-TEST (SeMA Bunker, 2019), Dear Amazon (Ilmin Museum of Art, 2019), and Asis Film and Videoart Forum (MMCA Korea, 2019). Her solo exhibitions include COLD MOOD (1000% soft point), at Tastehouse, Seoul (2018).
