From the “Chinese Paladin: Sword and Fairy” created by SOFTSTAR ENTERTAINMENT, to “Devotion” launched by RED CANDLE GAMES — a recent highlight that even got turned into a movie and TV series — the Taiwanese video games constantly generate new buzz. Can the Taiwanese gaming industry become the next phenomenon? What challenges does it face? The speakers will review Taiwanese video game development and address the questions based on gaming theory.

Chi-Hao LIN is the editor-in-chief of “udn Global” and has been honored with the SOPA 2023 Awards for Editorial Excellence.

He holds a master’s degree from Fu Jen Catholic University, Department of History, and was awarded the 5th Otaku Culture Forum Seminar and Bahamut Game Community Thesis Award. In addition to his role at “udn Global,” he is also the podcaster behind “Formosa Youth (寶島少年兄)” and “Corner Game Console(轉角遊樂器)” , a program that explores video games and socio-cultural topics.
