CCTV ARENA
YouTube Live, gaming, video game live streaming, OpenCV
2021
Chin Tien Yin created an open-world game in which the scene is a CCTV camera being streamed live on YouTube. Different processing, such as game live streaming, monitor screen and first-person game screen of the same scene leads people to make false judgments. When the audience becomes a gamer, they become involved in the game world.
On the other hand, will viewers who only see the monitor screen believe it because of the AI human tracking function and the lifelike clustering and flooding in the scene? Receivers and dominators at both end of the screen may overlap and confuse. Chin wants to question live video and CCTV footage, because they can be tampered with, whether for mischief or to maintain stability. The phenomena in the CCTV footage reflect the social alienation amidst the pandemic, the intensified collective emotion of anti-lockdown, or the images that are not wanted to be seen by the public.
