Hsiang-Yun HUANG, our Netherlands-based guest curator of this year, will discuss her curatorial focus on “post-truth” and the relationship of the selected works for this invitational exhibition with both contemporary society and digital art.
B.A. Philosophy (National Taiwan University), M.A. Media: Film and Photographic Studies (Leiden University). Hsiang-Yun’s research focuses on philosophy of time in dynamic images, post-colonial historiography, sociology of internet art. Her articles have been published in Taipei Digital Art Center, Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab and Cloud Art Critiques (supported by National Culture and Arts Foundation). Besides research, she also directs performance films that are inspired by her poetry dealing with the vulnerability of human existence and the circularity of time.
A curator with a background in art history and art critique, Hsiang-Wen CHEN serves as the Art Director at Digital Art Center, Taipei, with research focused on moving images and an array of new media art. CHEN is a heavy user of cellphones, an addict to the Internet, and a cat fancier. Her recent curatorial works include “Letter·Callus·Post-War” (2019, Indonesia, Yogyakarta, Taiwan, Taipei),” “Expanded Experimental Animation Festival IV” (2019, Taiwan, Taipei).
