Stance phase, Swing phase tells a story about technology that connects human body and labor, and the social structure that surrounds the technology. In today’s society, disability is understood as a state that is lacking possibility of labor and impaired with economic capability. For that reason, rehabilitation technology for people with disabilities not only restores the physical function of the body, but also augments the ability to labor and facilitate the economic activity at the same time. Science and technology that equip such rehabilitation seem to envision an optimistic blueprint, but the site where this technology is made and put into effect could be a political complex of many kinds. In this context, the artist intends to explore the structural quality between human and technology involved in the process of research, production, and utilization of rehabilitation technology.
